Towards Perfection Happiness of Omelas

The suffering of some can bring joy to many. The social norms can make people sense of Right and wrong very deluded as shown in the story "The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas"  by Ursula K. LeGuin. Abusing a child and not letting him out of the locked home is the price of Happiness of the people of town. The superstition in a society makes its people to abuse others as in Omelas their believe that Prosperity and beauty and delight will be destroyed if let the child live a normal life, given food, and sunlight. The happiness should not cost another person's life. In society today millions of people live on the earth that makes it difficult to please all of them however most of them can be pleased even if cost abuse of few. The tone of the story is happy at the beginning and in the middle informative. The story by LeGuin is similar to the movie Conan the Destroyer by Richard Fleischer because Conan the hero in the movie leads a magician,Caption, a fool, and princes  to get treasure which will bring statue in to life if placed on its fore head. The happiness and prosperity would return to the kingdom. Princess tries to sacrifice her life for happiness of her people but Conan saves her and kill the statue which turned into a Monster. The happiness of many and suffering of some is not right concept which is prevalent in both movie and short story because nobody would like that he be abused so other can be happy. Education of people would make it easy to eradicate these kind of concepts in society for the well being of everyone.

A Cultural Experiance

The memories and very important moments of Sandra are combined in "The House on Mango Street". Sandra is the first person narrator in the story. She talked about her name and its meaning in Spanish and English and how she will be not be like her grandmother about whom she feel's sorry because her grandfather took her without her will. Many of  her  teenage experiences are similar to what people go through every day life. The story of Sandra is similar to the story of Al Hajj Malic al Sehbaz(Malcolm X). They both moved from home to home and didn't had home. Their connection to the heritage is very strong Sandra due to large family and Malcolm due to the political environment of that time and because of his father teaching him about black pride. The struggle of life make them always strive to achieve their goals of success to over come difficulties is very inspiring for every one read about their life. The autoethnography is the cultural influence of the writer having impact on the story like in "The House on the Mango Street" by Sandra Cisneros the Spanish culture reflect in the story.

A Girl Thing By Jamaica Kincaid

Woman have huge impact on the society because she educate children about their social and cultural values. The theme of the story is that mother and children relationship is very important. Third person and unreliable narration style is used to write "Girl". "An American in China" by Ron Berret Movie is similar to the " Girl" by Jamica Kincaid . Mie Play's an important role to change the life of David like in story mother play an important role to change the life of Girl. The  gloomy tone of both stories make them very enjoyable while watching and reading.

The Appointment

The life is a journey upon in which mankind faces difficulties and unexpected challenges many of which lead to failure in daily life. The ironic change in life make the life as an example from which the people can learn many things about life. The video  "The Appointment" is an example in which it is showed that death which is out of  control can not changed. The boy in the video is told he will die so he tries to escape and run away how every he dies by gun shot.

In the short story" Appointment in Samara" merchant is told that his servant will face death in Samara by Malik al mout angel of death. The scary look of the Angel of death frightens servant that makes him leave from Baghdad to the  Samara where he faced death. The irony in the the movie and film is that boy and servant try to escape death nevertheless they die.The tone of story and film is very uneasy. The film and story also show that faith is
unavoidable and free will does not exist.
